Bristol Cycle Festival 2012
Play Nicely were asked to design the Bristol Cycle Festival programme and festival posters again this year, as well as a refresh of their brand.
In addition to being simple and elegant, the new logo made up of two bicycle chain links is a motif that we see as representing the strong community ethos of Bristol Cycle Festival - working together as a community. The overprinting of two ink colours is likewise intended to highlight the idea of community spirit. It adds a third colour without cluttering the design and incidentally keeps printing cost down.
The programme was distributed 10,000 times and the festival attracted thousands of attendees to its cinema, lecture series, cycle routes, music concerts, carnival, pop-up cafe, and even cycle speed dating. We are enjoying our ongoing relationship with the festival.
